Free Game Sites

TSN Hoops - TSN offers two games for basketball.

  1. Ultimate Hoops: A pay game offering the traditional TSN/Smallworld fantasy sports format, with a 10 player roster, player repricing based on net buys/sell each day, a TSN point formula which includes a variety of player stats, and 4 trades added to your arsenal each week.
  2. Basic Hoops: A simpler free game with 6 rosters slots, weekly repricing, and 2 free trades per week. Additional trades can be bought.

NBA Stock Exchange - produced by RotoHog.com, this free salary cap game offers a stock market facility for buying and selling players with prices fluctuating in real time. Graduated transaction costs have the effect of imposing a cap on franchise value for astute traders. Each position slot is limited to 82 games per season, so optimal performance requires a thoughtful pace. If you don’t want to commit for a whole season, there are monthly contests with prizes.

The HoopsKlyce Page
- Lots of useful statistical analysis, much of it tailored toward traditional rotisserie-type scoring.

Doug's NBA Stats - A comprehensive set of NBA stats. Updated daily, with downloadable text files which can easily be imported into a spreadsheet. Also provides preseason stats.

CBS Sportsline Stats - A well laid-out set of NBA stats. The sortable stats are listed in an easy to import, tabular format. CBS.Sportsline also provides a good source of fantasy basketball analysis.

ESPN - You could have obviously found this one on your own, but how could I have a set of basketball links without it?

NBA.com - The official site of the National Basketball Association.

RotoTimes - A variety of team and player info, including depth charts and players notes updated daily, and links to local newspapers. Still free (as of October 2008)

RotoWire - The best one-stop-shopping source of current player information available. Especially if you have a limited amount of time to keep track of your team, this is a must. No serious fantasy sports enthusiast can afford to stay away. In October, 2001, this site converted to a subscription based service. [Formerly RotoNews.]

RotoWorld - A variety of team and player info, including players notes updated daily, and links to local newspapers. Still free (as of October 2008)

USA Today - another good source for a variety of news and stats.

Yahoo! Sports some good sortable stats tables. Unfortunately, they stopped producing the downloadable version in early 2003.
